Connected: Friday, (Feb. 4, 2011)

February 4, 2011
7:00 pmto11:00 pm

What are a hoolahooper, a pair of kissing lovers and a fantastic rolling eyeball all doing in the same show, you ask?

To find out, you’ll have to check out the Great Wall’s February show, “Connected”. Don’t worry – it’s not a Valentine’s Day show, so the eyeball won’t be kissing anyone!

Project Bandaloop “Behind the Scenes”: (Friday, Sept. 3, 2010)

September 3, 2010
5:00 pmto8:00 pm

We are extremely pleased to announce a “Behind the Scenes” open-rehearsal of Project Bandaloop, the Bay Area’s premiere aerial dance troupe, on the Great Wall of Oakland.  During September’s Art Murmur, this five-member company will descend on ropes and harnesses from the roof of the Wall to offer the public a glimpse into the performance-rehearsal process.

Beginning at 5PM, the dancers will  fine-tune their most recent work under the direction of artistic director, Amelia Rudolph.

As the sun sets, the Great Wall will continue with it’s regular video-programming, showing-off some of the incredible footage Bandaloop has acquired during it’s 30-year performance world tour.  From a New York City billboard to a water tower in South Africa to the Eiffel Tower in Las Vegas, the sites that Bandaloop has turned into performance venues is stunning.

Do not miss this rare and exceptional event!
