On June 4, the Great Wall brings you, “In Search of Happiness,” a collection of video art pieces all attempting to discover and capture that elusive state.

What makes you happy?  Long walks on the beach?  This month, we’ve got it. Cupcakes shot out of a cannon at someone’s face?  And, we’ve got that too.

With so many great artists presented in this series, maybe watching the show in full will bring a smile to your face.  Check us out on June 4th or wait patiently for the show to be uploaded here.

Guest Curators: Oakland Museum of California

May 7, 2010
6:30 pmto11:30 pm

Artwork by Barry McGee

In celebration of the grand re-opening of the Oakland Museum of California on May 1, Senior Curator of Art, René de Guzman, and New Media Producer, Stijn Schiffeleers, are stepping-in as guest-curators for the May show on the Wall.

We are extremely excited to host the museum folks and honored to have the opportunity to screen some  artworks from the permanent collection.

So far, the OMCA curators have kept the show largely under wraps, but the line-up is rumored to include artworks by Will Rogan, Kota Ezawa, Barry McGee, Michael McMillen, and some behind the scenes videos from the museum’s new interactive media.

This is a must-see show, so mark your calendar for May 7th!

April Show: Views of Earth

April 2, 2010
5:00 pm

"Iceland" by Gunnar Konradsson

Over one billion people celebrate Earth Day, or so they say.  It is the largest secular holiday in the world, which is kind of a big deal. Wouldn’t it seem with all those people celebrating the earth, we’d be in a better shape?

Without too much doom and gloom, the Great Wall brings you ”Views of Earth,” a show with many perspectives about this place we call home.

Ten video artists from several different continents bring us both jaw-dropping, awe-inspiring panoramic views of our planet, as well  as, some slightly more apprehensive, a few comic, outlooks on the subject.

The Show:

Iceland by Gunnar Konraddson

Sea of Glass by Sean Vicary

Times by Vincent Urban

Djemba, A Boy from Kibera by Jason Taylor

My Tokyo by Romain Alary

Metropolis by Rob Carter

Greedy Boy by Kim Young Ha

The Bumblebeez “Misfit” by The Glue Society

Ataque de Panico by Fede Alvarez

Step-O-Tron by Markus Hofko

Recycle Invaders by Thiago Maia
